WHERE TO STAY ?
Hotels are still problematic in Poland - you can find either the very rich five star places or really cheap but looking like cold war interrogation room. But Boleslawiec area has responded to tourism with some very nice places where you can enjoy local hospitality.
HOTEL PROTEA
Brzozowa 1e, street

Personally I think it is the best place to stay in town.
The hotel is very close to Kosciuszki street where many of pottery shops are .

Located in a newly rebuilt villa , the owner has created a very cozy place , by arranging the rooms with local folk motives . There is also a very nice restaurant , decorated entirely in wood as hunter's hut with Polish countryside menu and very cheap prices. In interiors of the hotel you will be able to see some neat antique pieces collected from the region .
You can learn more, or make reservation from their website www.protea.com.pl [in English].

HOTEL ELITE
II Armii WP 26, street

I have never stayed there but have heard a lot of good recommendations from other people. The place is at the city borderline at the main road from Germany. It is not like more lavish Protea where you would be comfortable staying for a week, but rather is intended for the overnight pottery shopper. Many of our cutomers report favourably of their stays.
You will find more on their (English) webpage : www.hotelelite.ta.pl

KLICZKOW CASTLE

This is the most expensive but most exciting option. The castle is about 5 miles from Boleslawiec and it was founded in XIII century. During last years it was completely restored and equipped with antiques which have been collected from the region and thoroughly restored. The castle not only looks great but it has also rich program for diverse activities like - horse rides, carriage rides, indoor pool or medieval evenings with live classic music.

PRNJAVOR MOTEL
II Armii Wojska Polskiego 21, street

If you want to see how looked hotels in Poland at communist times you can go to this motel. Located at main road from Germany it has retained all former system traces - small rooms, the furniture from 80's, - very little has changed.
But most say that this place is a big and secure one, because people who run this motel are reputable and really very nice. Once I left my wallet and went to Germany next day, and when I returned - nothing had disappeared.
The place is really stay-and-go motel - but the restaurant is open 24 hrs (while most of restaurants in other hotels close at 10 p.m.) and there are always available rooms. The best one to stay if you have a car problem in the middle of the night and look for some place to survive.
